Making the leap from corporate partner to entrepreneur

After 25 years of working in my profession as a partner in an accounting firm, I decided to branch off and start my own small boutique firm. At this critical juncture in my career and life, I felt it was very important to find someone who would work with me to make an objective assessment of how I conducted myself from the perspective of my employees and clients. I needed someone to take a hard look from the outside in to help me better understand my strengths and, more importantly, my weaknesses, and guide me on how to make improvements. I began my search by speaking to work colleagues who had gone through a similar process and was highly recommended to Eden.

As an employer for the majority of my career, I had never gone through a critical review process.  Of course I was apprehensive about it, given what I had heard about other leader’s experiences.  Eden did a very thorough job of interviewing me and the people in my circle to learn all she could about me.  She reported back the good and the bad in a way that pulled no punches but was very helpful and insightful.  We then embarked on a specific plan, based on that feedback and my own goals, of areas to focus on.

OUTCOMES

With constant follow up and encouragement, Eden helped guide me to better place in my professional life. I feel I am more responsive to client’s needs, I think more strategically about every aspect of my service delivery and I am always striving to improve.

Since our initial engagement I have used Eden for many different consulting aspects of my business. Her clarity on issues, organizational skills and overall great counsel has made her an indispensable part of my team.
